At Least 19 Sikh Yatrees Die In Coaster-Train Collision Near Sheikhupura

The deceased were Sikh yatrees who were traveling home from Nankana Sahib. Ten other people were also injured in the incident. Shah Hussain Express was traveling to Lahore from Karachi when it met with the accident in Sheikhupura. The coaster crashed with Shah Hussain Express at 52 number railway crossing in Sheikhupura, near Lahore, a spokeswoman of the railway authorities said in a statement. Prime Minister Imran Khan also took notice of the accident and offered condolences to the victims’ families. He directed to provide the best possible medical treatment to those injured in the accident. Our entire railway's operational safety SOPs will be reviewed immediately. Bodies and injured were immediately taken to Sheikhupura Hospital.
